7,600gns Record for Bull at Dungannon

Charolais met a consistently strong demand selling to 7,600gns at the Northern Ireland Charolais Club’s official autumn show and sale at Dungannon on Friday 4 November. The packed ringside set what is believed to be a record average for this autumn sale with 41 bulls averaging at £3,681

Charolais Suckler Calf Competitions sponsored by Ulster Bank Ltd

The NI Charolais Club is delighted to acknowledge the generous financial support again this year from Ulster Bank Ltd.  The Autumn Suckled Calf Competitions have been a great success with a flying trade recorded at many of the shows and sales. The price of beef at the minute has helped to push up the prices of quality Charolais calves, buyers are looking for good confirmation and growth potential in their investments and are prepared to pay a decent price in the knowledge that they are buying animals that will bring them a good return by killing out well.

40th Anniversary Celebrations.

NI Charolais Club – Special 40th Anniversary Celebrations. - The Northern Ireland Charolais Club Annual Dinner took place this year in Walsh’s Hotel in Maghera, one hundred and seventeen members, guests and sponsors attended this gala event.

Attending were founder members, Bo Simpson and his wife Yvonne, Caldwell McAskie and his wife Lila, John Currie and his wife Margaret who presented the awards; John Currie was the guest speaker at the event giving us a brief run down on how the Charolais breed had been introduced to Northern Ireland.
