Charolais Envy of Balmoral

  • Tuesday, 24 May 2011 16:30

After months of extremely dry weather in Northern Ireland the weather pattern changed just before Balmoral show and we were greeted with blustery & bright sunny weather with the odd heavy shower. This did not dampen the enthusiasm of the Charolais breeders who brought out an exceptional line up of top quality stock, the Charolais entry was the envy of Balmoral.

There was a great crowd around the ring in the afternoon to watch this spectacle; the judge Ian Campbell did an excellent job in drawing out the very best of the breed to a rapturous applause from the crowds.

As the cattle gently paced around the show ring skilled stockmanship was very evident that in Northern Ireland we are privileged to have good breeder’s good stockman and good livestock. Making Balmoral Show 2011 one to remember.
